Appointment Q & A

  • Untimed parking is available the parking garage that is across the street from Bespoke PT. Street parking is often also available, with a 2 hour time limit.

  • It is best to wear something that is comfortable and offers easy movement. Keep in mind that, ideally, your physical therapist will want to physically look at/ examine the area for which you are seeking treatment. For example: if someone is experiencing knee pain, it would be great if they were to wear shorts or loose fitting/ wide leg pants. Client comfort I key, so we are happy to work within their preferences.

  • Typically the first visit (initial evaluation) is between 60 and 75 minutes, and follow up visits are 45 minutes long.

  • Absolutely! Anyone who the patient would like to be present for their appointment is more than welcome. There are two chairs available inside the office for guests to utilize.

Sometimes, on the other hand, the patient has someone give them a ride, but prefers not to have that person physically in the room during their physical therapy appointment. In this case there are several chairs just outside of the office door where they can wait.

The key is creating a clinic atmosphere that makes the patient at ease and comfortable.

Which is more expensive?

Comparing Bespoke Physical Therapy with high-volume insurance- based clinics

There are so many factors when choosing the best medical provider for your needs. Cost is often of high importance- Hopefully this chart is helpful to consider some of the many factors that contribute to overall cost.

Chart Notes:

*Many high-volume insurance-based clinics require a physician referral prior to being treated by a physical therapist.  According to Forbs, the average cost of an urgent care visit for joint pain is $175, which of course varies wildly.

Bespoke Physical Therapy operates under Florida State Law, which says that physical therapists can treat patients without the need for a referral.

**I have personally seen physical therapy copays varying between $20 and $150 per visit.  For the purpose of this chart, I am going to use a slightly below average copay of $60.  Some patients also pay completely out of pocket at insurance based clinics, and this price will often be hundreds of dollars.

Also of note, typically at high volume clinics, the first visit will be predominantly an evaluation (taking a history from the patient, and performing tests and measurements).  At Bespoke Physical Therapy, the first visit is both an evaluation as well as a full treatment session, typically including hands-on therapy.  This means that people often make significantly more progress after a Bespoke session than elsewhere.

***Insurance-based physical therapy “plans of care” are between 2 times a week for 6 weeks, and 3 times a week for 12 weeks.  For the purpose of this chart, I chose what I have most commonly seen on physical therapy referrals: 3 times a week for 6 weeks.

At Bespoke Physical Therapy,  people with new injuries (injuries occurring in the last 6 months approximately) are most often seen for about 6 visits: twice a week for 2 weeks, then once a week for 2 weeks.  This amount is not required and some people come fewer than 6 times.  When someone has had a pain or injury for many years, it stands to reason that they often require more visits to reach their desired outcomes.

****This is based on “average hourly pay per hour in Florida" from Zip Recruiter.  Of course not everyone works an hourly position, and almost everyone will be paid either more or less than this average.  This is to point out that, often, fewer visits can result in decreased expense.

What People Are Saying

“I came to Dr. Cassandra Cook with my neck not able to turn either way with level 10 pain.  She has gotten me down to a level 6 and sometimes 5 with her wonderful treatments, and teaching me what to do at home 3 times a day.  I have followed her home treatments 3 times a day faithfully.  I am a cosmetologist of 50 years owning my own salon.  I had an injury that brought me to physical therapy.  I was so lucked to find her as she is the best.  I recommend her.”

-Frances

"Cassie is wonderful. She makes you feel very comfortable and answers all of my questions. She is helping me rehab my knee and never lets me feel discouraged. I know I am in good hands and will miss seeing her when my PT is done. Highly recommend her!” -Marsha

“Having had long term shoulder problems and seeing many physical therapists, she is the best I have been to. She has gotten more movement in my shoulders, even though the doctors said it wouldn't be possible. Very friendly & knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone that needs to see a physical therapist.”
